Spontaneous reboot-Win 10
#1
Greetings All,
So after 2 full restores and updates (WIN 10) I'm still getting spontaneous reboots.  It seems that no matter what I'm doing; surfing or photo viewing, it will suddenly freeze and after about 5 minutes it reboots.  Well, maybe after I'm not using it, meaning just reading or no keyboard activity for a period of time.  Sometimes I have just finished rebooting, stepped away for a short period and come back to it having rebooted even thought I didn't do anything.  When I sign back in it seems to be alright,,,,,until it does it again.  Now it also seems to be somewhat steady if I'm actively using the computer such as writing this, it is doing just fine and not freezing.
I have reviewed the Events and it seems that it throws 3 or 4 "Event 10016, DistributedCOM" red Errors then goes through the reboot stuff.  It does make an -  Event 1001, BugCheck

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x0000000000000007, 0xffffb50d4cc29028, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\120118-10265-01.dmp. Report Id: 3a635646-d40a-428c-98a4-ffdfd0398523.

Of course you can't "read" the dump file.

Any thoughts or ideas?  It's not my main computer so I'm not in a jam however I'm spending to much time trying to figure this out.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

If it reboots always afrer about 5 mins and your not doing anything then check if you can hear the fan working and check the units temperature. It could be a duff fan or heatsink not sitting flush on the cpu

I tried this and it does not show any out of date drivers etc.
I also want to reiterate that if I'm using the computer steadily it does not freeze and reboot.  ONLY WHEN I STOP actively using the computer,  For instance, now.  If I'm typing and surfing etc, no problem.  If I go get a beer and 5 minutes later come back it is frozen and will reboot.
I have never encountered anything like it.
One person asked about the cpu temp - it's 59 so I don't think that is it.  I do hear the fan from time to time.
Any thoughts?

After further review, I went to Device Manager and deliberately selected the Intel HD Graphics and the 3 Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework drivers and forced an update.  They did indeed have an update and the 3 Framework drivers migrated the list location to be under System Devices instead of ???.
It has now run for several hours without a forced reboot and the CPU is at 58c!

I thanks you guys for giving me the direction to solve this.
