Auto Power On after Power Loss
#1
I am trying to update the firmware to add power on after power interruption option. Downloaded the latest firmware and installed ok. I also downloaded the "AK1(4+32) power failure auto on function EC" files placed it in my the root of my C: drive. I then did a reboot and pressed F7 and selected UEFI: Built-in EFI Shell. It then stops at startup.nsh. I really need help having this PC auto-start unless it useless to me. Just purchased from Amazon Brand New.

Thanks

This circuit will implement an automatic power on function in hardware. You'll need to be handy with building hobbyist-level electronic circuits to do this. Your local electronics nerd could make one of these fairly easily.

If that circuit is too complex, the function can also be implemented using a low-cost micro-controller like a PICAxe and a few external components (linear voltage regulator, low-power transistor, reed relay, and a diode). The micro-controller would need to be programmed to wait a few seconds after power is restored (it should be powered from the DC-in jack) and then momentarily close a reed switch wired across the AK1's power switch which emulates the user pressing the power switch. The PICAxe's program ends and nothing further happens unless power is removed (i.e. a black-out) and then re-applied.

This is just stupid. Computer BIOS for years have had the ability to have automatic power on after power failure. Having to mickey mouse something makes this a useless PC to me as well. If I dont find a way within the return window, back this goes and I'll not be ordering 20 more units for our development.
